PROPAK MYANMAR 2019 CONTINUES TO PUSH INDUSTRIES FORWARD

Yangon— With ProPak Myanmar ending in success, the contributions of the exhibition continue to fuel growth among local manufacturing sectors amidst the uncertainty of the global economy. Held from 12-14 September at a new venue, the Myanmar Expo (ME), the country’s premier processing & packaging event offered visitors a chance to interact with various technological solutions in processing, packaging, filling, quality assurance, testing and measurement. In addition, there were modern products and services covering a comprehensive range of other related fields, including automation, transportation, storage, refrigeration, ingredients, labeling and pollution control.

This year, ProPak Myanmar provided an industrial platform for 160 leading companies from 23 countries to showcase their innovations to 3,829 visitors from 16 countries, including potential buyers looking to meet industry professionals and find the missing pieces needed to take their businesses to the next level.

There were also three international pavilions from Indonesia, Taiwan and Thailand which highlighted their specialties and solutions for local business, ranging from SMEs or large corporations. ProPak Myanmar has become a place for visitors to learn from industry-leading exhibitors and discover the latest trends in everything from small equipment to large-scale automation to suit their individual business needs.

DrinkTechMyanmar, Ingredients Myanmar and PlasPakMyanmar were zones at the event that promoted the growth of these industries domestically. DrinkTechMyanmar is dedicated to supporting one of the world’s fastest-growing new beverage markets, especially for alcoholic, soft drink, and dairy beverage manufacturers. Ingredients Myanmar provided keys to success for producing local food and drink products with a higher quality and value to serve increasing demands. PlasPakMyanmar demonstrated what is needed for the development of all stages in packaging supply chains, including solutions, innovations, plastics and other materials.

Visitors gained useful knowledge and had a chance to share their experiences with industry professionals through various conferences and seminars held concurrently with ProPak. These highlighted events included Improving Food Safety and Quality Standards through Technology by AHK; Industry Update - Value Added Fishery Products to Exportation organized by the Myanmar Fishery Products Processors & Exporters Association; Development of the Value Added Food Supply Chain in SMEs in Myanmar organized by the Food Science and Technology Association of Myanmar (FoSTAM); SMC Automation for Energy & Cost Savings organized by SMC (Thailand) Ltd.; Increasing Milk Yield through Proper Feeding Management and Hygiene Improvement Techniques (The Case of Myanmar) andMachine Design for Dairy and Beverage Factories Following GMP Standards, both by PATKOL; Smart Factories in the Food and Beverage Industry by POLYCO Group; and the KBZ SME Banking presentation.

Manufacturers are aware that food safety and quality are increasing concerns for consumers and are basic needs for manufacturing nowadays. ProPak Myanmar gathered solutions and advanced technologies to help meet these demands. In addition to decreasing human error and cross-contamination, automation and machinery can also increase productivity and production capacity to serve this fast-growing market.

Labor-intensive industries are transforming in a new era where innovation and digital technology play more important roles in manufacturing and meeting customer demands. As such, visitors were able to adopt these technologies for sustainability and environmental friendliness, as well as technological solutions for every step of the food supply chain, including processing, packing, packaging, labelling and warehousing.

“The Food & Beverage market is very promising in Myanmar and our local manufacturers have the potential to grow. While there are many positive factors supporting this growth, manufacturers need to adopt new solutions to improve their operations to fulfill the gap between consumer demand and production capability. With modern innovation and technology, the business will gain consumer trust in food safety and quality while also increasing their production speed and accuracy. I believe that ProPak Myanmar provides the right solutions for these industries so they may seize opportunities in our current dynamic market,” said Nyein Aye, Event Director of Informa Markets. “An increasing number of visitors and more positive feedback emphasized the position of ProPak Myanmar as an annual industrial platform for the latest trends and technologies. I am confident that the event will play a significant role in driving forward and enhancing Myanmar’s processing and packaging industries toward the global stage.”

ProPak Myanmar’s success was made possible by the support of many leading industry associations, including the Myanmar Industries Association (MIA), Myanmar Food Processors and Exporters Association (MFPEA), Myanmar Fishery Products Processors & Exporters Association, FoSTAM, Myanmar Retailers Association (MMRA) and a strategic banking partnership from KBZ Bank to provide SME loans and financial services to visitors.

ProPak Myanmar 2020 will return from 17-19 September to provide even better technological solutions from around the world to serve all the needs of local manufacturers to together drive the growth of industry and the economy in Myanmar.
